September 8

Monday morning came a little bit as a let down after the excitement of the weekend. But we still had the dinner party that night to look forward to, and plenty of math work to do. We spent about three hours doing that, and then got really bored and fed up with it. Mom found a bunch of new websites to learn geography of different continents, and other things just to stimulate our brains, so we managed to occupy ourselves for another hour before getting to lazy.

Then we packed up all the food things we needed for dinner that weren't already out at the cabin, and lay around doing nothing for a little while. When mom came and picked us up we went right to the cabin where we killed a good hour watering flowers for her and finding news flowers to put in the bouquets on the table. Then everybody started arriving, and Larissa and I still had to make dessert, which got a lot harder with 18 other people in the house, well in the kitchen, even though they did need to be.
Mom forgot to bring eggs, so we had to improvise on what to put into the brownies instead, and yogurt ended up working pretty well (I was surprised). Larissa made a peach and huckleberry cobbler which was absolutely delicious, and then we got to go play for a couple hours with Aidan and Liam, who are now our only friends anywhere near our age up here. It was really good to see younger people, and we had lots of fun.

It was over all two quickly and they had to go home to bed so they could get up early to go to school the next morning. We got to clean up the cabin and come home, and for some reason both Rissa and I were absolutely exhausted, even though we didn't do anything particularly trying. Maybe it's just the change of doing nothing, and then all of a sudden to a bunch of things three days in a row. Either way, it was nice to get to bed, and we all slept very well.
