October 10-12

On Friday night we moved apartments. It was still in the same complex and everything, just slightly bigger. We were all really excited. Larissa and I had completely unpacked before we realized there was a serious mold/mildew problem that was making my asthma worse. We decided to give it a try anyway and work on airing and drying out the place during the day. Luck was on our side and it only rained at night the next few days, but still the apartment didn't really improve. We talked to Sophia, who promised to sort it out on Monday, but in the mean time we just had to suck it up.

Larissa and I slept downstairs Friday and Saturday nights, and Sunday night there was a new a mini-apartment that Larissa and I could sleep it. Some of the rooms in the house aren't so bad, so as long as we steer clear of the bedrooms during the day (which of course are the only places with privacy in them) we're OK. If the apartment doesn't improve we'll move a few blocks down. Monday we start Spanish school. Saturday night we went to a really nice Italian restaurant. It's really weird to order Italian food in Spanish. It would good, but not amazing like some places I've eaten at in the U.S. But the location was amazing. Like many places around here, it used to be a house so you eat either in the house or the sprawling courtyard inside the gates. It's really nice and pretty. We ate my candlelight.
